NA MWO LU JI SAN MYAU CHYE DWO NAN

Worthy and Sagely Sanghans of all the world,

Greatly Wise Honored Ones of Proper, Equal Enlightenment,

I offer my life in obeisance and beseech you to gather me in,

So I may perfect Bodhi that neither increases nor decreases.

COMMENTARY:

NA MWO Means to "return one's life." LU JI again means "world." SAN MYAU means "proper and equal." SAN PU TI means "right enlightenment." This just means to take refuge with all the Sages of Proper and Equal Enlightenment, Worthy and Sagely Sanghans of all the world, / Who are the holy and worthy Sages? Avalokiteshvara (Kuan Yin), Mahasthamaprapta (Ta Shih Chih), Samantabhadra (P'u Hsien), Manjushri (Wen Shu Shih Li), and Kshitigarbha (Ti Tsang Wang). These Bodhisattvas are holy Sages. CHYE DWO means "not returning to the Triple-realm."

Greatly Wise Honored Ones of Proper, Equal Enlightenment, / These are Sages with great wisdom. I offer my life in obeisance and beseech you to gather me in./ We return and rely on them and make obeisance to them with body and mind. With our five limbs we bow to the ground and request the worthy Sages who have great wisdom to gather us in.

So I may perfect Bodhi that neither increases nor decreases. / In the future, I will be able to accomplish Anuttarasamyaksambodhi. I'll obtain the perfect and complete Bodhi, the fruition of Buddhahood. This is the position of neither increase nor decrease.
