Those who are unfilial and rebellious within the four great continents,

Can hardly escape their evil retribution: they fall into the turning wheel.

COMMENTARY:

"Not Able to be Oppressed" and "Skilled at Consideration" in the Heaven of the Thirty-three muster heroic awesomeness.

E DI MU DI means "Not able to be oppressed" and "skilled at consideration." To be skilled at consideration is to be one who cannot be oppressed; is just one who is skilled at consideration. Not able to be oppressed also means not able to have one's wisdom covered over. It also means invincible. In the Heaven of the Thirty-three above, they are extremely awesome.

Those who are unfilial and rebellious within the four great continents can hardly escape their evil retribution: they fall into the turning wheel. The four continents are Purvavideha to the east, Jambuvipa to the south, Aparagodaniya to the west, and Uttarakuru to the north. If there are those in any of these four who are not filial to their parents, they will have to suffer the retribution.  Those who are not filial go off to become hungry ghosts, to be born in the hells, or to turn into animals.

The "turning wheel" of the six paths is composed of three wholesome paths and three evil paths. The three good paths are the gods, people, and asuras. The three evil paths are the hells, hungry ghosts, and animals. The evil paths are retribution for evils done.
