BWO TWO BWO DI
GREATLY PENETRATING, GREATLY ENLIGHTENED IS THE GREAT HERO.
TEACHER OF PEOPLE AND GODS, HE IS REPLETE WITH BLESSINGS AND WISDOM.
AS A CAUSE, CULTIVATE THE SIX PERFECTIONS TO PARAMITA.
IN THE FRUITION, FULFILL A MYRIAD PRACTICES IN WONDERFUL ENLIGHTENMENT THUS.
COMMENTARY:
BWO TWO is the same as FWO TWO, which means "Buddha," and BWO DI is the same at PU TI, which means "Bodhi." The sounds are slightly different, but the meaning is the same.
GREATLY PENETRATING, GREATLY ENLIGHTENED, IS THE GREAT HERO. The Buddha is one who has great penetrations and great awakening; he is a great hero, TEACHER OF PEOPLE AND GODS, HE IS REPLETE WITH BLESSINGS AND WISDOM. He is a model for people and gods, having cultivated his blessings and wisdom to perfection, as a cause, CULTIVATE THE SIX PERFECTIONS TO PARAMITA. HOW did he get to be a Buddha?
He did it by cultivating on the causal ground, diligently practicing the Six Paramitas--giving, holding precepts, patience, vigor, Ch'an samadhi, and wisdom, IN THE FRUITION, FULFILL A MYRIAD PRACTICES IN WONDERFUL ENLIGHTENMENT THUS. When he reached the level of fruition, he accomplished the myriad aspects of his conduct and was certified to the suchness of the true principle of wonderful enlightenment. He became a Buddha.
