MỤC XOA NI

Most supreme liberation is the Dharma Jewel,

Shining through the past, glorifying the present and extremely rare.

With it one transcends all suffering and difficulty,

Quickly certifies to Bodhi, and quits being upside-down!

COMMENTARY:

MỤC XOA NI means "most supreme liberation." Liberation means no hang-ups, no obstructions, and no attachments to self or dharmas. Self and dharmas are both gone. Most supreme liberation is the Dharma Jewel, / shining through the past, glorifying the present, and extremely rare. This kind of Dharma shines through the past into the future for ten thousand generations, but it is hard to encounter and very hard to understand. It is very rare. Few understand this Dharma, very, very few. With it one transcends all suffering and difficulty. This is the line in the Heart Sutra that says, "When practicing the profound Prajna Paramita, he crosses over all suffering and difficulty." You go beyond all pain and difficulty.

One quickly certifies to Bodhi and quits being upside-down! This sentence corresponds to the line of the Heart Sutra that says, "leaves all upside-down dream-thinking far behind and ultimately attains Nirvana." One very quickly gains the enlightened Way, that is, Bodhi, and leaves all inversion to certify to one's inherent Prajna wisdom. This is the self-nature's wisdom, which is endless for the taking and inexhaustible in its function. If one hadn't planted good causes and conditions in the distant past, and if one didn't have good roots, one would never meet with this Dharma.
